It wasn’t easy at all before the internet and especially social media sites. We were totally isolated, and by the way, the Gaddafi regime was bloodier in that time than now!
This blog provides some info about the Libyan uprising for freedom after 42 years of dictatorship. The tyrant Gaddafi has started a war on his own people since the beginning of the protests on February 17 of 2011. This blog tries to give updates about the situation in Libya. Please feel free to comment or if you are Libyan, please feel free to share stories, pictures, or videos. Hopefully the blood-shedding of Libyans come to an end soon and we celebrate victory on this blog.

Why have Libyans waited for 42 years?!
Many people asked me this question. There was no internet or any kind of international media in Libya. Gaddafi would have murdered all Libyans and no one would have known. And even though, there were some attempts to get the Gaddafi regime down in the 1980s such as the National Front of the Salvation of Libya 1984 attack on Gaddafi's headquarters at Bab al-Aziziyah in Tripoli. Moreover, in the 1980s in Benghazi, university students and professors who had opposed the regime were hung in public squares. In the 1990s, a guy named Alhami and his group in Benghazi tried to get the regime down, but they were captured and their leader ‘Alhami’ was murdered and put on a cross in a tank of a truck and drove him in the streets of Benghazi to be an example. Additionally, there was a failed coup attempt in 1993 by military members from Al-Werfla tribe.
