Misconceptions about the Feb 17th Uprising on the Western media

• Referring to the people who are anti-Gaddafi as “rebels”. They are not rebels. They are freedom fighters who stood up against an oppressive regime.

• Referring to what is going on in Libya as “civil war”. It’s not a civil war. It’s not a fight between Libyans. All Libyans are one hand against the regime and this is proven by the fact that Gaddafi brought foreign mercenaries to fight for him when the national military wouldn’t obey. And of course there are a very small number of Libyans who are pro-Gaddafi because they are involved with him in crimes and they know if Gaddafi is defeated, the Libyan people won’t forgive them.
